Post 1994 Democratic Elections in South Africa, the government had set a commission of enquiry aimed at investigating the atrocities that plagued South African people during the Apartheid Era. This commission was tasked with investigating the perpetrators of political crime and also to lend a ear to the victims of such crimes. They were further given the task of giving amnesty to the perpetrators provided they spoke the full truth of their crime and for the victims and their families closure about what had happened to their loved ones was achieved. This process aimed at bring reconciliation between the people of South Africa more especially between the black and the white citizens.
